No visitors, just my other half sent her friend an e mail saying she had left enough hints for me always rabbiting on about T at Burj Al Arab and I had obviously taken no notice, her friend told me probably as expected! I was actually waiting for her birthday in Sept but had second thoughts on waiting as I have a few days away coming up that i aint told her about yet.

The Ritz Carlton does a really good afternoon tea- I think it is better than the Burj, especially in the winter as you can sit outside. It just feels more "colonial". I've always found the Burj a bit glitzy.

But thats the whole point....when you are in Dubai, its just one of the things you have to do!whether its lunch,dinner,whatever.....the Burj is the Burj! The food isnt really the point of going.

What is deemed as 'expensive' for a meal in Dubai?

I know I can pay an arm and a leg or two just to be seen in these 'burjy' places, but I'd much rather give my money to an establishment that is really doing good stuff.

PS. I'm now working out in Crapademic city, and the options for lunch are non existant. Does anyone have recommendations for nearby restaurants or a half decent delivery service operating in that area?
