Its a shame Everton lost after a stunning Frank Lampard strike. It had ended Everton's resistance and ensured Chelsea's interim boss Guus Hiddink brought the curtain down on his brief spell in English football by collecting the FA Cup.

Burnley no surprises there. In 1912-13 saw Burnley promoted to the First Division as well as reaching the FA Cup semi-final, losing to Sunderland. The next season was one of consolidation in the league but, more importantly, the club lifted the FA Cup after beating Liverpool 1-0 in the last final played at Crystal Palace.

Its amazing how history proves that scotland has produced the best managers in football but totally average players...apart from a select few.

aye but you did ahve a golden era years ago with sounness, dalglish etc - I see Ferguson reckoned they lost to BArca as they 'really missed Fletcher',

I mean, come on now....

We had Gallagher when Bobby took over, he was ace for us, I loved him.

yea and during that golden age we still couldnt get out of the group stages of the world cup..

i blame Stevie Nicol for his miss against Uruaguy...

Nowadays, we cant even effin qualify..
