Re: F1 Yas Island
It is. Think it's on the day before and on the day of the grand Prix. DOn't know how all these celebs are going to be at all these after show parties. The Rainbow Prince is also holding one on his island for drivers and isn't there a gala as well...

Re: F1 Yas Island
There are six hotels all by each other, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites, Radisson Blu, Park Inn, Rotana and Centro. They have bars and restaurants in each one and they all seem ok. They also have gyms, pools, squash courts etc.
You then have the Yas Marina Hotel, but not been in it properly yet. Didn't get chance to see any racing this weekend as I've spent all the time running round the island dealing with the different security agencies. Just hope I get to see some next week.

cars on the track in semi anger, sun going down, hotel lights coming on......Awesome.
For someone as jaded as I am about this place these days it was a pleasant surprise to be blown away by it. Yas Marina circuit looks spectacular, end of
Of course there are more than a few hiccups and botched jobs being done to get it ready, there are a couple of absolute nightmare design faults behind the scenes but all in all i reckon it should just about come together for a cracking weekend.
one unexpected and hillarious consequence of an emergency drill was that half the security gaurds can apparently give usain bolt a run for his money hardly surprising really but funny as ****

I actually think this can really be the first truly worldclass event staged in the UAE ever.
Good luck to you Shiva and all involved.

(as if you could, but whatever) can you please get Murray Walker to commentate... his hyperbole plus Abu Dhabi's hyperbole may create new elements...

Re: F1 Yas Island
all looking good, I just hope it's not won by a white landcruiser who comes up behind a ferrari on the last straight with headlights flashing
