Pics of the 3
One is Asian, one is Black and the other looks mixed. I wonder if not being White Brit is part of the reason for their predicament?

The article states they were beaten in the desert and forced to watch men being raped in prison.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-cannabis.html

"Speaking to the Daily Mail Mr Jeerh's 32-year-old sister Daveena claimed all three men had been let down by the Foreign Office and Consulate officials since their arrest last year.

She said: 'My brother was beaten after he was arrested and when he asked the consulate officials to take photographs of his injuries they simply refused.
"

"'He has been forced to watch rapes in the prison he is being kept in.

'Instead of helping these men the consulate officials have been putting obstacles in the way of their families. We feel we have been totally let down by the Foreign Office and consulate.'
"

^^ They'd be better off approching British Aerospace for help than the British Teaparty -ahem - Embassy...

They aren't forced to watch rapes. You do hear them though.... And it's usually the mullahs that are first in the queue.

Some people just don't know how to behave overseas. They get roasted, bad pun, and complain.

They cane you in Singapore for spitting. I feel sorry for them and not sorry for them at the same time. Mixed nuts (oops, another bad pun).

I agree and understand. Unfortunately, that's not the way many will see it. It's a case of a goat butting its head against a bush and becoming entangled.

Unfortunate and unavoidable.

The Embassy are a waste of time, their only job in these situations is to check your well being - after the authorities have told them you are in jail. You then have a meeting with them and a chance to voice any concerns. As regards rape, the brits will be in a predominantly western block and I would be very very surprised if they heard anything. I think they realise they are in the shit and a mixture of the fails extreme Middle East bashing views and their desperation means they will say anything. Anyone with half a brain here knows you stay well away from drugs where its a mandatory 4 year term (Usually pardoned after a year).

There aren't "Western Blocks", there are Indian/Pakistani blocks, and then everyone else. It's the locals that do the raping, mainly to Filipinos, Chinese etc.. All the "blocks" are open to everyone anyway, drug use is rife.

Al wathba split people up, Don't see why Dubai would be different as its bigger? In AD until you are convicted you are placed with fellow westerners and people in for short stints - bounced cheque etc. They do not put you in with people convicted of serious crimes. They also split the Muslim and Christian prisoners up.

So does this mean locals will commit a crime just so they get sent to prison.
