Emirates ID - News

I just downloaded the Emirates ID Pre-Registration form in less than 60 seconds from their website.

It seems like they have listened to all the problems that we have been facing.

Now I just need to get an appointment, let's see if that turns out to be as easy, somehow I very much doubt it!!

I don't understand the form.....

No where to put your surname, what the hell is grandfather name there for?

Famous Names?

Other Names (do I put Bison here?)

Who's my clan, is it the Cheltenhamshire Massive?

Apparently I have to include my tribe as well.

What a load of cock!

the reason they ask for that information is its common practice in most of the middle east and asia, were you to pull your head out of your arse for a second or two and realise your not in ****ing benidorm you might understand

There's no need for that now is there, if you have a problem then send me a PM and we'll discuss it, rather than you ruin every thread of mine.

Just because you don't agree with some of my views your acting like a child.

Sorry mate but not everyone has the same opinions.

The form contents were designed for Emiratis and just translated into English. If you want your name to appear correctly on the printed form...First name in the first name box and surname in the Middle Name box.

If you do have middle names you can tell the interviewer (at the registration centre) at the time he/she corrects mistakes in the form.

Not only have they finally agreed with the rest of Dubai that 31 Dec 2008 is WAY too short a time frame, they have now given all us expats, not a further 6 months, but,............... wait for it..........

A WHOLE 2 YEARS!!!! Jeez, this place just keeps going from the sublime to the ridiculous.......:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Huge front page headline in Seven Days saying that the ID deadline had been extended by 12 months and then some guy goes on the radio denying the whole story. What a country! My understanding is that the deadline has effectively been extended for professional expats as they won't be penalised by a fine or denied government services if not processed by the year end. This punishment will only apply to Emiratis. However, bearing in mind that the rest of the UAE workforce will be joining the queues from the beginning of next year, it might be prudent to get cracking, sooner rather than later. Just my two pennyworth.
