Those companies which normally work on Saturday will return to work on Monday. Those which don't will resume work on Tuesday. That's my understanding. Two days off for all.

See quote below from the National today - Saturday + Sunday is implied as the 1st plus 2nd of Shawwal.

Re: Eid Holiday

We got this from work:

'We will observe a holiday on the first two days of Eid Al Fitr, which will start subject to the sighting of the moon:
Either on Sunday 20th September, 2009, with normal business commencing on Tuesday 22nd September, 2009.
OR on Monday 21st September, 2009, with normal business commencing on Wednesday 23rd September, 2009.
Kindly observe the local media on Saturday night for final confirmation'

i.e. We do not know...wait and see.
