Ha, true!

We are avoiding any of the big popular ones and going somewhere a little more high end in the hope of escaping all that.

Good luck with that. More likely it'll just be people in more expensive shoes following the same pattern. Enjoy.

I'm sacking brunch off altogether and going out for sundowners and dinner. Might go and survey the carnage somewhere after that.

I usually avoid certain brunches in the same way I won't go to big boozy events on NYE. At least people with expensive shoes try and get to a bathroom rather than ruining said nice shoes.

A favourite place to watch post-brunch carnage is the Warehouse at Airport Meridian. You can take bets on who will fall on their arse on their way down the stairs.

Do high end brunches actually exist in Dubai?

They are all school dinners with people pouring in fizzy wine faster than the food.

This was a silly knee-jerk reaction by The Ivy and their brunch is back on, although I imagine many people will now have made alternative arrangements. The issue is due to the lapsing of live entertainment licenses, so you can have a brunch as usual with alcohol but no live music.

They have just posted this on their facebook page "So....the ever confusing situation continues! It would appear that we can serve alcohol, but that live music and all forms of entertainment are cancelled. So brunch is back on peeps! Sorry for all the excitement....keeps it interesting at least!"

We went to Table 9 brunch recently - highly recommended.

Food was amazing, the wine was very good (apparently - I can never real tell) and excellent service.

Yeah it is because they are stopping live music slightly earlier. Thats why a lot of the clubs are closing start of this weekend, not at the end of.

BUT it couldn't surely be because of the rumors circulating much earlier that we are about to be getting big news from AD direction. i.e. Radios to be only playing classical mournful music????

The usual Ramadan rumour, per other threads...

Someone dies so it's okay to drink gallons of alcohol, but don't you dare play that guitar!
