Well, the urban myth that it's to avoid the patient seeing what regimen they are on can be dispelled here. It's merely that they write so many scripts that they've fallen into the spidery handwriting pattern we all love to hate. Odd that they don't self realise, and that they all fall into this pattern. But you'd expect some of the most intelligent people in our society to deal with this issue, knowing full well what mistakes can do.

I would have thought that pharmacists would force doctors to write legibly.
