...Dubai's Mall of Arabia to be revived within 10 years

https://www.zawya.com/story/Dubais_M...0160424100610/

Dubai conglomerate Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group ( IMG Group ) is committed to developing the Mall of Arabia retail complex within the next ten years, but has yet to establish a new construction schedule to revive the much-delayed project, a senior executive told reporters on Sunday.

What will the Mall of Arabia have that the Dubai Mall or MOE don't?

Has anyone been to the new mall on the Palm? Is it open yet? What's in there? I haven't been on the Palm in ages.

There's another new mini-mall opposite JBH. Anything noteworthy in there?

It seems to me all the malls and shopping centres and mini-malls pretty much have the same shops and restaurants.

Some have shops that others don't (it depends which family group 'owns' that brand).

However, the number of malls is mental, but I suppose we can't have districts or areas of shops etc because nobody would go to street based shops in summer....well I wouldn't.

MCC is still my favourite. But I go to Dubai Mall pretty much every weekend for the food shop.

There a load of new shops open in the Golden Mile - pharmacies, shoe shops, party shop, Spinneys, coffee shops and restaurants. They've done a good job of it so no need to leave now.
I heard rumour that McGettigans are opening a place in The Viceroy, but seems doubtful with the new ones in Madinat and JBR also opening up.

The new big mall at the end of The Shoreline is still under construction, not sure about The Pointe, it was supposed to be ready sometime in 2016.

What a relief! I am so pleased that there will be a new mall as there are just not enough shops in Dubai.

They can keep building malls until I find one that will sell me a Venus Fly Trap or a packet of wasabi rice cakes.
