Dubai Sevens - First Reports
Good news - the main stadium looks great, and the pitch is magnificent. As good as Wembley or Twickenham.
Bad news - the surrounding areas are not all finished - some evidence of..... er..... building materials left piled up around the place, and little things need sorting out before the main event tomorrow (didn't see a single litter bin, for example - at the Exiles there used to be thousands).
Still the whole thing is aimed at the World Sevens in March by which time the whole thing will be stunning............ no question.
WARNING - If you are driving out from Dubai along the Al-Ain road (E66), go past the stadium before turning off to the right - if you turn off BEFORE the stadium there is a very long detour then a u-turn all the way back again.
See you tomorrow............
