that's awful...how the hell does media one get away with their brunch offering then, where you can book brunch and for an extra 200 dhs get a room afterwards...?

it's a funky hotel in media city... http://www.mediaonehotel.com/, i haven't been but the brunch is meant to be good, and then yes, for a small price you can book a room...(unless they've just changed the brunch offering, i know it was fully booked before christmas, surprise surprise...)...

Doesn't surprise me she was a Pakistani girl. I doubt the authorities would have done the same thing had the woman been a westerner - I don't know what the reaction would have been but she wouldn't have been thrown into prison. Probably just advised to leave the country as soon as possible. But because the victim was a Muslim the police probably felt they needed to teach her a lesson about premarital sex.

"MY DH works in this Hotel and was MOD that night.
The girl was NOT raped!!! and as a matter of fact there is CCTV footage to prove that. The waiter who escorted her to the toilet and then allegedly RAPED her NEVER entered the toilets he returned to the bar and that is on CAMERA. She fell asleep on a make up bench inside the Ladies room.
The two girls who were directing people to pool, bar, toilets, elevators (lack of signage) got worried when she didn't return and entered the ladies room to find her asleep. She was woken up, escorted back to bar where the F&B DIRECTOR had to cut her OFF.
It was the boyfriend who began the rape story in the morning as he was ****** off about her being cut off and 'ruining' the night. The girl said she couldn't remember and just went with the boyfriend's story.
There was a massive investigation on New Year's day with Hotel staff being held, statements of witnesses, the camera footage being investigated and the staff has been cleared.
That is when the police detained the couple for drinking and unlawfully sharing the room."

The question is whether this is another made-up story gone horribly wrong or whether there is any truth in the alleged rape. The Sun definitely can't be trusted as creditable source, but then again neither can a forum posting...
If they made up the rape allegation they deserve to spend some time in jail, but it's difficult to say in this place what the truth really is as the police could easily have their own agenda..

Not true. They used to ask for one passport only and the hotel already has your credit card details anyway. Incidentally, the rape story is also in the Mail but almost word-for-word identical to the Sun story. Probably bollocks.

My sister and her partner are always asked for both passports when they visit. Different names..never been questioned
I also have gay friends who come over, staying in the same room, double bed, and never questioned
