Dubai Fountains - restaurants

Re: Dubai Fountains - restaurants
A non-foodie review of Mango Tree.
It's alright. Better than the one in Belgravia as it seemed a little less poncy and formal. As Thai food goes it was nice enough - it is all much the same really anyway. They don't do jungle curry so I had to settle for a red curry made extra hot. It could have been hotter as it's not shifted my man flu.
Views of the fountains were fantastic (thanks everyone who suggested this place) although you do have to shove the food in fast (between shows) or it gets drenched (I didn't anticipate this!). My man flu didn't appreciate being soaked and sitting outside in the cold and nor did my bald guest (but this is not the restaurants fault). That said, I enjoyed it and would go back when it's a bit warmer to sit in exactly the same place. Prices were high but not outrageous.
Suchard's at London Bridge is still my favorite - it's like a builders cafe with service and seating to match but the jungle curry is the hottest thing on Earth.

Not far from Borough. Not bad. Kill two birds with one stone.
Just in case you are serious...
Suchard Thai Restaurant Restaurant. 102 Tooley Street, London Bridge, London, SE1 2TH.
It's bascially opposite Moor London.

Aside - can one find proper Chinese anywhere in Dubai? Every place I've tried it's turned out to be muck in gloopy sauce.

have to say, the best thai restaurant in the world is actually in kew...it's a tiny (as in only 5 tables upstairs and few more downstairs) family run restaurant...anna's chicken (she's the chef/owner) is legendary...

There's one at my workpalce, Sheikh Hamdan Awards building - its authentic, as it (for me) total horrible stuff, roasted shark fine etc - it you want authentic then this is the place, if you want british chinese (like me) then stay clear.
