Spanning six islands, The Heart of Europe will feature villas, hotels and marketplaces inspired by the architecture and lifestyle of Europe. But it will also include snow and rain-lashed streets, said Josef Kleindienst, the chief executive of Kleindienst Group, the property agent and developer behind the project.
The group said it would use “state-of-the-art German technology” to achieve the effect, without providing more details about how the innovation will work.

I'd love it, but only if it can take me directly to the mezzanine parking in my building.

(which I don't think actually counts as a mezzanine, but that's just personal gripe)

This project is actually underway.

The developer said yesterday that contractors had been mobilised on the flagship project. Six hundred tonnes of materials and equipment had been dispatched from the mainland to the islands.

The first step of the construction process involves “vibro-compaction” of the islands, before the buildings are erected.

Building is anticipated to last until the end of 2016.
So wonder how they are going to create the artifical rain & snow?? I doubt they would do cloud seeding for such a small area?? So probably very tall towers and sprinklers on top? If the latter that is going to require a lot of resources. How are they going to keep the snow from melting before it hits the ground or melting as soon as it hits the ground:confused:

Does that 1 developed World island have municipal services connected to the mainland or is everything self contained? For the above large project they would need to connect utilities from the mainland, as a self contained power station and waste treatment plant would take a lot of area and resources?

it's Dubai, the "Underwater Utility Free Zone - UUFZ" will be announced shortly.

As far as I know that 1 developed World island is self contained, a barge goes out there every week and ''removes the waste'' and replenishes the water/diesel etc. That was about a year ago, but I doubt anything's changed.

I suggested this one years ago. They've done it in Bangkok so why not here?

None of them do. I'm not sure if they plan to have a central utilities island or if each is to have there own. This was one of those "we'll address that at a later date once we've sold all the islands"
