Drones are also not that sophisticated, it’s actually quite a simple technology. Which is the frightening part.

There's been sporadic attempts by the Houthis to attack Riyadh over the last couple of years, using ( I think ) Scud missiles. These have usually been intercepted by the Saudis Patriot Air Missile Defence system, so they've never hit their intended target up until now. That's what makes this particular attack so intriguing. Also, rather than attacking a major city - this attack seems far more focussed and strategic.

A lot of talk and posturing coming out of the US, although to be fair, I don't watch much Saudi news, so no idea what their take is. So far, they are just seem to be investigating and trying to identify the culprits.

Iran is thought to have a pair of Shahed 129 drones on Adu Musa which could in theory have made a bomb run that distance. It is highly unlikely that it would have got up without the nearby RN presence putting it back down again. Had it done so it is unlikely its pay load would detonated and had it done so its 400kg load would have made a bigger bang. My moneys on a weaponized chines delivery drone flown line of sight. Simple is the only thing that works in the middle east. Plus why would the Saudis lie? they are terrible at it and why risk getting caught again.

Princeton, as in the world leading university, came up with that? Surely nothing in there is anything other than expected behaviour? Just added some numbers of casualties....

Still, frightening as fudge.

Agreed but at one point in the video, a replica of Santa was made over Europe. I kinda liked that bit.

"The Israeli Iron Dome system is the best system for protecting Saudi assets from a similar attack."
