Did you know that the practical driving test can last as little as 5 mins??? WTF?????

it is pathetic! you need about 600 lessons before you get to that point as well :p

hmmm, I need to learn to drive soon, I spend over about AED 2,500 a month on cabs.

Jings, crivvens and 'help ma boab'.. 2500AED on taxis? You could hire a driver full time for less than that.....

well it may be hard for cabs when I move this week,

what's the best way going about getting a driver then? To be honest just someone to take me to work in the mornings would do.

Easy-peasy.. checkout EW, they always have guys looking for driving jobs in their classifieds...

do they? I thought it was illegal? you have to sponsor them and provide visa etc.

yeah, but you don't have the insurance issues with a maid so it's not the same...it's defo not worth hiring an illegal driver...

Just ask the cabbies that take you if they know of anyone who want to do a regular pick up and drop off? They often know of someone if you ask?
