Default Dominique Straus Kahn then..

A guy of this caliber/importance getting arrested for alleged rape is big news. Not only is he the head of the IMF but a leading French Presidential candidate.

It's only such big news because French Privacy laws had hidden what a skirt chaser/ predator he is. Completely from the rumour mill but i heard he was told not to **** up the appointment and to 'not find himself alone in an elevator with an intern' while he NYC.

I loved the quote from a previous attempt at a forced seduction - he was like a 'rutting chimp'. Brilliant, ego deflating insult.

I couldn't imagine the furor over here if a leading Democrat or Republican Presidential candidate was arrested in Paris or London for alleged rape.

Now if this had happened in the UAE.....even to a non Emirati but a VIP, it would just get covered up.

Why has it taken you nearly a week to raise this topic? Its old news. My view is that it's a political set up and that he will be exonerated but the shit will stick and he will lose both his IMF position and his presidential future. He was interviewed a week earlier and predicted that a honey trap would be set by his enemies. He was right.

If he really suspected a honey trap, then he was pretty daft not to have someone with him in NYC at virtually all times. And if the sequence of events as portrayed by the NYPD is correct, surely he wouldn't do a runner. I don't see the facts stacking up as a conspiracy.

Vive le sport.

Yes it's bad publicity...unless he's running in Italy in which case he'll be president for at least three centuries.

A political set up? It is a well known fact that he's a serial philanderer and rather heavy handed with it. Even by French political standards (exceptionally low!) he was in another category of Lapin Chaud.

I don't really care if politicians shag around..but the head of the IMF being charged with rape has an interesting analogy to it I find. Anyway..Taiwanese news recreate the events..it makes European gossip rags look weak.

Tawainese news is awe-inspiring - I would hope they release a game based on it soon where you can burst in, shot Kahn and save the maid before solving a wider plot which involves finding Barack Obama's real birth certificate and preventing Donald Trump's hair from taking over the city!
