I’ve been an expat here for over 5 years but only reacquainting myself with the nightlife scene as I’m newly single. Where’s the best places to meet the opposite sex on a Thursday or Friday night these days?

I gather you're not talking about something involving a transaction.

Doha is pretty small that every time I go out, no matter where I go, I see the same usual people over and over again. Best thing is probably start out with a Meetup group or Internations social event and take it from there. Just going to a random bar and starting chatting with the ladies probably won't get you far (largely because your typical bar has one lady for 1,354,543 men, if we're not including the ladies of negotiable affections).
