Does anyone know anything about digital cameras?

Hmmm....

I'm after a new one, I've got it down to these two:

This one looks great for me, almost unbreakable, I can take shots with it underwater when diving, in the sea etc,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Olympus-Mju-...7604337&sr=1-8

but this one looks great, got a 10x optical zoom and apparently the images are better, no underwater stuff though...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...A2WLPHVGKG8500

Any experts in?

All I'll be using it for is pics on holiday etc etc, nothing professional....

ta!

Hi Spugsy,

The first one seems a good deal to me, the Olympus I mean, the other one is a rather shitty camera if you ask me. Mega pixels don't say much if it's not used for professional use. I've seen fantastic photo's being made with 2 or 3 mega pixel camera's. And the Olympus lenses are rather good to.

er Leica lens!!!!!!! Leica lenses make Olympus lenses look like milk bottle bottoms.

Spugsy they are different tools for different jobs mate.
Decide what you want to do with your camera, what you will do most of etc and then pick a model.

check out sites like these as well.

for your price range I'd strongly suggest Canon Powershots....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-PowerS...8014607&sr=1-2

Have a look at the user reviews of this one.

Virtually all the shots on my blog were taken using a powershot. You can point and shoot but you can also mess with the settings which is great.

I wouldn't take the Olympus diving unless you buy the additional underwater housing, it will be ok for snorkelling but definitely wouldn't chance it with diving.

Try looking at www.steves-digicams.com

Excellent review site and they normally list the best cameras by price, MP, or class.

as I said mainly for holidays pics, outdoor stuff, hopefully underwater, there will be no tripods or owt like that, just a good quality general use point and shoot.

bah, BOTH have really good reviews on that site, maybe the panasonic just a bit more, but the olympus for someone on the move, as it's totally dustproof as well for the sea, beachers, the desert etc etc

hmmm.
