AC

This is your third thread / posting on acne. You said in another thread ("hello from abudhabi") today that you were going to see your doctor, quote "I am now gonna speak to the doc and see what else he can prescribe". You should do it.

I understand your concerns re. your son's problem and that you may be arming yourself with internet knowledge before meeting up with your doctor, but acne is a common ailment amongst teenagers and I am sure your doctor (or his or her referral to a dermatologist) will be aware of the latest treatments and side effects.

Hello macscot

If it is ,this is not my 3rd thread

the op was someone called farha with the title thread hello from abu dhabi who asked re a specific acne treatment

i gave my reply

u gave a reply

as did

EVA

i started my own thread re acne treatments not a specific treatment

this forum is to share advice and experiences, which is what i want from my thread

If you had read my psot u will clearly see that i have visited my doc and have been prescrived R and i also have stated how pissed i am that he did not give info on side effects hence my shock at eva's nephews story and my now interest in this topic

Sorry annacarna - my apologies! I thought it was a continuation of the same topic by the original poster. I should have paid more attention to the posters.

The reason for my concern is that I lost a close friend in Australia who received erroneous advice on the internet, which she followed and is no longer with us (a fatal allergic reaction, nothing to with acne treatments but microalgal supplements). Hence, my emphasis on posters seeking medical advice by seeing professional medical practitioners.

In your case you did not receive information on side effects from your doc, then get a second opinion, especially from a dermatologist who is most likely to have the requisite specialist knowledge on acne treatments and their potential side effects.

While posters on fora may share experiences they should not share or provide advice.

So you the Post Policeman then? Is there a limit to how many posts a member can make? You have certainly upped your average on this topic. If you aren't the Post Policeman, are you an MD ?.....lacking in the bedside manner a bit if you don't mind me saying.
Can I ask what are your thoughts on Roaccutain and the MMR single vaccine debate?

Referring to your advice-clearly Anna's Doc 'overlooked' the side effects of R-
A quick shifty through the Mimms, a script and out the door maybe-or a quick shifty at the share price of Roche in the FT..................

Oooooooooooooooooh the irony of it all !!!!!!
Looking at your advice once again- AnnaC did seek medical advice from a doc
-I'm truly sorry about your friend however I don't want to pussyfoot around this-I do not know of many people who would take as gospel what is posted on a website w.o. properly researching it.Was this in relation to alternative med or cancer meds(hope you don't mind me asking).

Well, advising, informing or sharing-splitting hairs a bit.

For my part, I would just like to say-this 'discussion' or exchange of info has been a good thing.

Zamboooka, thanks for heads up regarding Skinoren, don't think it was licensed when we were looking. Will certainly tell my nephew about it.And Mythic-Vinegar is amazin stuff for all sorts......did it redden/burn the skin though?

MacScot, I am sure you mean well.....but bit sancto ..imho Oh, and the referral to a Dermatologist in AD?Have you ever tried finding one? Hmmmm-easier finding a copy of the Jewish Echo......
