A word of warning to those of us who use discount agents here in the UAE like Groupon, Cobone, Big Fish, Posh Deals and the like. One of the newer outfits, namely Discountoffers.ae, appears to have gone belly up. It's vouchers are being rejected because the outlets are not being paid. They have removed their contact number from their website and don't answer e-mails. Which one will fold next I wonder.

Seems foolish to hand over money to companies you have never heard of. I believe Cobone and Groupon have proper funding but using the others without checking them out properly seems rather silly.

Things that appear to be a bargain are often the opposite and being so damn tight is an awful way to live.

Meow, I simply try to pay what I feel the service is worth. Why pay Dhs200 for a massage when you can pay Dhs75 with a voucher? Obviously, if the massage is good enought then I am happy to give the masseuse a suitable tip. Incidentally, I only use Discountoffers because the particular massage establishment I prefer uses them. I normally use the more well known companies. Luckily, some research soon identified the owner and he has already refunded me the amount paid for the dishonored vouchers.
