Any enterprising Swiss woman has started a business that rents out guinea pigs so that people who lost a guinea pig are left with just 1.

And it just so happens that a day before I read this news, I watched a 1980 BBC Manchester documentary of a Rail journey through Peru with Miles Kington.

Kington ( host/narrator) ends up eating a Guniea Pig because it is the local delicasy amongst the native peoples.

I used to own two guniea pigs. When one died, it was awful watching the other cry so much and we had to get another. Great animals.

Mine was pretty chilled, he was called Chuckie (after the Rugrats character). My sister's was appropriately named Loopy. If that ****er got out the cage it would try to escape. We used to trap it in the microwave or oven, otherwise it would be in the kitchen flying around for ****ing ages.
