Some thread merging needs to be done as we presently have four threads on the go. It was certainly the worst I've experienced since the Greek Islands back in the 1980's.

Yes - DIFC evacuated. We were allowed back before the Emirates Towers people though. I guess it's because it's an offshore zone.

A wobbling chair and desk in my home office. Weird feeling.

Apparently it was here: http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/....php?id=443315 and 7.8.

It's an unpleasant sensation, but I feel for the poor sods closest. 7.8 has to do a lot of damage.

People moaning about a bit of disruption in the UAE need to get a grip. I've seen far too many moans about having to take the stairs to leave a building FFS.

It really scared me. Had a quick moment of trying to get to all of my children and then realising it had subsided. Those poor bastards near the epicentre.

Re: Earthquake

Wouldn't it be ironic if we all ran out of our tall buildings to the road only to be washed away by a tsunami 12mins later.

Yes, we were evaquated from DIFC. Back at our desks now, though.

Re: Earthquake

I felt it in Riyadh. In my hotel room, started to feel a little queezy and noticed the curtains were swaying ( but there was no music on) then a whole load of creaking. Naturally I assumed one of the building site next door's 35T excavators was running wild so whatsapped the Mrs "[email protected]*, the whole building is shaking" she said no, the would be the 8 mag earthquake in Iran, less than 5 minuets later as reported on the internet . Wow, the speed and power of the net!!!
