Yeah that was cool.

Was about to have a go at the guy next to me for jiggling his leg and rocking the table...then realised.

Quality. 33rd floor made it fun, building definitely creaked.

Sat in my mate's place on the 10th floor in International City, the water out of the fish tanks is still moving!

Yep. Felt it strongly here in Marina. Seemed stronger than the one I felt in Doha a few weeks ago.

Added a bit of excitement to the day. Felt much worse than the one the other week.

Desk shaking, 33rd floor in JLT. Was quality.

Millions of people are stood outside, security asking to move cars and evacuate

Some thread merging needs to be done as we presently have four threads on the go. It was certainly the worst I've experienced since the Greek Islands back in the 1980's.

Yes - DIFC evacuated. We were allowed back before the Emirates Towers people though. I guess it's because it's an offshore zone.

A wobbling chair and desk in my home office. Weird feeling.

Apparently it was here: http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/....php?id=443315 and 7.8.

It's an unpleasant sensation, but I feel for the poor sods closest. 7.8 has to do a lot of damage.

People moaning about a bit of disruption in the UAE need to get a grip. I've seen far too many moans about having to take the stairs to leave a building FFS.

I did try to use the same thread as last time!

It really scared me. Had a quick moment of trying to get to all of my children and then realising it had subsided. Those poor bastards near the epicentre.

Re: Earthquake

Wouldn't it be ironic if we all ran out of our tall buildings to the road only to be washed away by a tsunami 12mins later.

Yes, we were evaquated from DIFC. Back at our desks now, though.

Re: Earthquake

I felt it in Riyadh. In my hotel room, started to feel a little queezy and noticed the curtains were swaying ( but there was no music on) then a whole load of creaking. Naturally I assumed one of the building site next door's 35T excavators was running wild so whatsapped the Mrs "F@u*, the whole building is shaking" she said no, the would be the 8 mag earthquake in Iran, less than 5 minuets later as reported on the internet . Wow, the speed and power of the net!!!

Lot of overloaded washing machines in UAE to cope with the soiled underwear but I believe no damage or injury directly related to the shaking.

It was touch and go, Bob. For a minute, I thought I'd spill my latte.

Never felt a thing, was at the Greens when it happened. Drove through TECOM, people all over the place, but the men were still cleaning windows, bizarre.

Really shaky in Doha city centre, my tower shook quite a bit - think the one last week loosened the foundations more than a bit! Loosened my bowels anyway...

Does anybody know if this reported occurrence is true, as I cannot imagine how a complete mall evacuation could be safely organised?

"The grandiose Dubai Mall was completely evacuated, according to employees who said people were also cleared from towers in Downtown Dubai, home to the world's tallest building."
