Diamond Ring

Any recommendations for where I should buy a diamond ring out here?
Is the UAE as good as any gulf country, and is AD better or worse than Dubai?
How can I be sure I'm not getting ripped off?
Should I haggle, and if so what sort of discount can I expect?
Is she likely to be able to tell the difference between cubic zircona and the real thing?
Did you really think I meant that last question?

Thanks :D

That gold souk does that sort of thing, haggle your heart out, walk away, they'll call you back etc or diamond and gold park, same thing.

I got my old mam some diamond earrings, gold leaves with little diamonds on, quite nice and elegant, guy wanted £200 for them, paid @90 in the end, she was made up.

Well aye, but that was just a wee present for my mam for me going back home.

Hmmm, Mrs Spugsy mentioned a new diamond ring yesterday, I had to start singing to put her off.

Spugsy -How many times do you need to be told- size isn't everything.

You should be looking at colour, cut, clarity and carat weight. And what metal she wants. Its tricky stuff this love!

Re: Diamond Ring

souks will probably be the cheapest

or if you want a "mall" type place then the gold and diamond park just near MOE. You must barter down, have a look and have them record the bartered price on a business card.... shop about and play them against each other.

Have a look at global diamond prices and look at UK online shops for a price guide and make a list - ie 1/4 carat is approx 500 etc.

BLoody hell, oh well she'll be with me anyway, I've only just paid off her engagement ring, and we've been married 5 years!

Buying a diamond ring one should never use the phrase, 'Will probably be the cheapest".
