Only one of those countries has anything close to a democratically elected leadership...so shame on one of those countries and shame on the unelected dictators of the other.
The UN is morally bankrupt - look up UN Watch for more info.

Everyone supplies everyone with weapons, equipment and training. It's a historic profession. Luckily most of the gear we supply can be easily wiped out in the case of having to fight our 'business partners'. I'm reminded of a signature on a large Brit military forum:
And also note that our universities, our sacred seats of learning, are also a place where those involved with the Arab Springs (on the wrong side?) received education and training. Google, "university military english" and you'll get the picture.

and it's not just about Syria...
you can feel the jitters....
Uzi Rabi, director of the Dayan Centre for Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University, conceded that Israel's position was precarious.
"Syria as a failed state poses a great threat. It already harbours Islamic Jihad and al-Qaeda. Israel cannot afford to allow the dual threats of this new Syria and Iran," he said.

Golden ticket to Sanhurst,Oxbridge etc(That money buys two or three kids from UK in red bricks and Oxbridge colleges as well as funding post grads and research students) BP engineers and others helped bring the wealth to these Middle East families so call it payback.
What these students receive in UK's sacred seats of learning is quality objective points of view.Whether that can overcome years of rote and closed minds is imho questionable.
Arab Spring
Not springs.
