A Day of Mourning For Me
It was very sad indeed to read on Sky News that our beloved Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare is on fire this very minute. Its part of our heritage and a wonderful piece of engineering built all those years ago. Also it brought many fond childhood memories for me personally. I am totally gutted...as will the predominantly wooden structure be in a few hours I guess.

The PLF strikes again!
Their attacks on piers are increasing every year, let's hope they leave Wigan alone.

Just seen it ono the BBC news website, one hell of a fire! The cloud of smoke can be seen from Bristol and Cardiff.
I spent a lot of time in Weston and visited the Pier on many occasions. It's very sad to see it go. No more sitting on the Pier with a bag of chips!

Edit: It wasnt. "The pier was recently bought in a multimillion-pound deal by entrepreneurs Michelle and Kerry Michael."
