He agreed to a point but argued it was all we had and it would cost Sunderland **** all to send a Lear Jet to collect every Sunderland captain that had ever lifted a trophy and bring them to the match*

*of course this sum would be considerably more than the skunk's would be
Do you reckon you're safe from the drop then mate? You seem to be on a bit of a losing streak at the minute.

If the film is as good as the book, should be a good one, although the Clough family are having nothing to do with it.

The Leeds teams of the 70's were easy to dislike. Especially since they introduced several negative things to the English game that until then had been almost non existant.

[1] The deliberate obstruction of the goalkeeper at corners. Speciality Jack Charlton.

[2] A carefully orchestrated plan carried out on a player by player basis to harangue the referee and basically bully him in giving decisions their way.

[3] They were the first team witnessed carrying out time wasting tactics taking the ball to the corner lines etc.

I stand to be corrected, but Leeds have to be the most hated team in football history.... surely??

p.s. And Bremner was a ginger tosser
Abso - f.cuking - lutely. They ARE the most hated team ever to have existed. Their so called fans are the biggest set of gobshites I've ever had to misfortune to 'meet'. Nothing but arseholes. And that f.cuking song, MArching On or whatever, don't you just hate it?

They played some passionate hard and skillful football and granted not always within the rules but despite how much we were and still are hated we really dont give a shit!

Marching on together, We are Leeds!

And for your information The Red Scum from Old Trafford are the most hated team in football!
Errr no. That would be the Dirty Leeds.

'Passionate hard and skillful football' ? You're having a laugh. Johnny Giles and Billy Bremner. They just kicked anything that moved. This is by the way, my fave pic of Billy ' ginger tosser' Bremner. Does he look shit scared or what. Typical Dirty Leeds, total cowards when confronted.

Clough had got to be admired for managerial know how. Succeeded at Hartlepool, succeeded at Derby - won them a LEague Title, succeeded at Forest, League Title, two European Cup, League Cups etc. He blatantly saw the evil lurking within Elland Road and promptly left.

absolutely not, but I've suffered 9 relegations with Sunderland, it's a bi-annual event for us and we'd be prepared for it

Sky must be rubbing their hands at the thought of the hysteria at Sid James if the skunks bite the dust

aye very true, they are pretty much camped out at the ground, they tried to interview a few times as I used to work right next door, told them to piss off as usual.

Well with our managerial twosome we're in deep shit indeed.

from nufc.com:

To be going into a relegation run-in without a manager and two inexperienced coaches at the helm, is frankly staggering and something that will defy explanation in years to come.

With Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood running the team and Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias steering the good ship NUFC, we can all see that huge iceberg approaching.

From what we can gather however, the owner's view of Venables has diminished since he was contacted in the wake of Kevin Keegan's departure and before the installation of Joe Kinnear.

No deal was struck, but Venables subsequently angered the SJP hierarchy by revealing to the press that he had been the subject of an approach.

Whoever is in charge over the next eight games, they certainly face a titanic task to keep us afloat, but if any change is to be made, then the international break would seem to be an opportune time for this to happen.
