I once had a chat with Bobby Kerr about how the 73 team were treat by the club. They've lived off it for years and don't realise that had they played for a decent team then they'd have been forgotten about years ago. He agreed to a point but argued it was all we had and it would cost Sunderland **** all to send a Lear Jet to collect every Sunderland captain that had ever lifted a trophy and bring them to the match*
*of course this sum would be considerably more than the skunk's would be

No, this isnt a call to arms for Spugsy's 5-a-side team,.....but the film premieres' in London tonight and goes on general release on 27th March.
If the film is as good as the book,should be a good one, although the Clough family are having nothing to do with it.
The Leeds teams of the 70's were easy to dislike. Especially since they introduced several negative things to the English game that until then had been almost non existant.
[1] The deliberate obstruction of the goalkeeper at corners. Speciality Jack Charlton.
[2] A carefully orchestrated plan carried out on a player by player basis to harangue the referee and basically bully him in giving decisions their way.
[3] They were the first team witnessed carrying out time wasting tactics taking the ball to the corner lines etc.
I stand to be corrected, but Leeds have to be the most hated team in football history.... surely??

They played some passionate hard and skillful football and granted not always within the rules but despite how much we were and still are hated we really dont give a shit!

'Passionate hard and skillful football' ? You're having a laugh. Johnny Giles and Billy Bremner. They just kicked anything that moved. This is by the way, my fave pic of Billy ' ginger tosser' Bremner. Does he look shit scared or what. Typical Dirty Leeds, total cowards when confronted.
Clough had got to be admired for managerial know how. Succeeded at Hartlepool, succeeded at Derby - won them a LEague Title, succeeded at Forest, League Title, two European Cup, League Cups etc. He blatantly saw the evil lurking within Elland Road and promptly left.

Whoever is in charge over the next eight games, they certainly face a titanic task to keep us afloat, but if any change is to be made, then the international break would seem to be an opportune time for this to happen.
