but it does show up how ridiculous the Dubai advanced rent payment system is.

over here its monthly payments like most of the world. Even though leases don't give you the right to set off payments it can always be uses as leverage.

As long as they tell prospective tenants- the LL hasn't paid up and is liable to face legal proceedings. That should scare all of them off , and force the LL to pay up.

it is a key or electronic pass system? Ours is a pass and if you lean on the door then kick it sharply it opens really quite easily.

Our gym is a bit different and has a electronic number entry so the secruity guard can enter. That was pretty easy to guess given that the numbers 23456 where dirty and the others were clean!
