Sad fact is, if I didn't have a prosthetic hip, I would be one of them as well.

Can you not ride a hybrid or something that offers more comfort?

I just can't get my knee high enough at the top of the pedalling motion.

You could get a shorter pedal on one side? Flywheel? Bigger frame?

I used to cycle a lot but then someone stole my bike :(. It wasn’t even new, just an old 70’s Olympia racing type bike (very nicely made though and tough).

Got this quoted at me a lot during and after last week as I cycled up from Edinburgh to Aberdeen...

Did it over a few days, taking in the scenery and the air. I'd forgotten what fresh Scottish air was like!

Edinburgh to Perth via the edge of Cowdenbeath and through Kinross, then along the coast through Dundee to Arbroath, up the coast (and along the A92 a bit) to Montrose and on to Stonehaven, and then round to Kirkton of Maryculter and along the old railway line to Aberdeen. Fun times!
