Crocodile Park in Dubai by 2013

Dubai: Dubai will soon be home to about 100 crocodiles as it adds another first to its list and plans to come up with a sophisticated ‘Dubai Crocodile Park’.

Mini-Millhouse is going to love this.

i'm taking this as a sign that dubai is back.

there seems to be a correlation between how mental the projects are with how well the economy is doing right up to the point of underwater then it collapses.

7 days reported that the park can accommodate 400 of them, and that they would all be sourced from France where they have them in captivity.

How the **** can a european country have a spare 400 crocodiles?

I went to a few crocodile farms in Australia and they are well worth a visit. I can't imagine its an extravagant proposal financially to build one.
Those salt water crocs from Oz made me doubt that crocodile dundee was able to wrestle them.

What is the purpose of a croc park? If it's just for people to view crocs, then wouldn't a zoo be enough?

I presume a croc park rehabs, takes in crocs that must be removed from human inhabited areas, tries to ensure crocs aren't endangered ?

With UAE climate, is this gona be air conditioned ? I suppose if crocs can survive in the hot African climate , they can survive just fine in UAE temperature?

European handbag sales are down.

It's mental idea. Apparently it will be educational. What can the average person learn about them that you can't by watching a documentary? Or it to educate people who piss of the wasta'd folk, in a James Bond baddie style?

Yes. The man on the street learns nothing in a zoo that they can't find out by watching a documentary and that allows the animals to remain in their narural habitat and not caged for our entertainment. I'm no fan of crocodiles, but the way animals are treated in this part of the world, by the zoos themselves and visitors, isn't even okay for them.

A good documentary would teach you more than 100 visits to a zoo.
