COP28 - Traffic

Hi All,

with the upcoming COP28 in Dubai, I was wondering what traffic would be like. Will there be lots of motorcades blocking everyone else trying to get around? Will Sheikh Zayeed road become a massive car park? Any other predicted disruption?

SZR was, in theory, shut this morning but I've no idea how bad it was.

It's just not worth going near it to be fair.

We were out and about today with no issues we just avoided SZR. Didn’t seem to be any knockon effect anywhere.

I was there for COP28 and I felt like some parts of Dubai were as crazy as the whole emirate was during the Expo. As an added bonus hotels also jacked up their prices to make the most of the opportunity. JW Mariott Marquis which is not even that special was a whopping AED 2500 per night with corporate discount

I must say didn’t notice Dubai being crazy during Expo and nothing much unusual during Cop28 in general. As for hotel prices … like anywhere supply and demand.
