In comes the new year...........with a bang!
Today I went to the Barsha area to a well known pub in a hotel of a local brand and they have a newly printed menu, with of course new prices!
A bottle of beer was up about 14% and the selection of snacks of the day up around 27%. Presumably they feel Dubai is booming again?
I don't remember the prices of the full meals before but they appeared to have had a substantial increase also.
No pay rises tho' apparently.

We walked to a newly opened restaurant near Irish Village today and enjoyed a seafood soup, sweet & sour chicken, Manchurian chicken, sweet & sour fish, chicken noodles, veg fried rice, salad and roti bread with two large fresh avocado/mango juices and bottled water. The meal for three diners was delicious, the service excellent and we got change out of Dhs100. Will be going there again for sure.

When I lived in Egypt, several restaurants had an 'English menu' and an 'Arabic menu.'
The English menu prices were about 50% more expensive than the Arabic menu - for the same food!
