Agree MH. The inverted snobbery is just silly.

I am a horse-racing fan, but hate the crowds at the DWC so we are going to see Coldplay with friends.

I have often wondered re this phrase, of course i know what it translates to, but what constitutes someone being classed as nouveau rich and for that matter what do we mean when we say snob/snobbery, i think we all have an element of snobbery in us.

Well, nouveau riche means to have acquired your vast wealth within your generation, not have had it handed down a la 'silver spoon'...

Can't say I qualify on either point, TBH....
