Buying booze all year for WHAT?What's THIS you're talking about. It sounds like your subconcious was telling you to prepare for a mahoosive parteeeeee. With us.

I've been buying booze all year too. Trouble is I've been drinking it all year!

Actually it was no trouble
Christmas party indeed No subconscious about it- its been well planned!just some good friends coming to oo and arr at my xmas tree (which I am considering putting up in november- is that too early?) and celebrate before we all disperse for chrimbo.

I've been off the rocketfuel most of this year which now mean I am pretty much the cheapest date you'll find- one sniff of a cork and Im giggling- at least hosting it means I can pass out on my bed whislt everyone else carries on

It is very sweet. Many bought round after round in my pub in Melbourne. However, quite a few would finish with a peppermint schnapps to cleanse the mouth and make your breath smell nice !

To welcome your guests make a large jug of Bellinis..NOT what Americans mistakenly call buck fizz but ...
A Bottle of Champagne
huge slug of Archers peach Shnapps ,sliced fresh peaches and ice..adjust to taste

or the classic Champagne cocktail
put a sugar cube in a champagne flute, 4 drops of Angostura Bitters and half a measure of brandy then top up with champagne :-))

Which Americans? America is like fifty separate countries. I'm sure Americans drink a lot of Cold Duck, but I would also think they consume more high end champagne than any other country on earth.

A lot of hating going on here, first the Indians, then the Chinese, now the bloody Americans..... Who's next?

don't be so stupid..how is this "hating".. I am refering to the drink being called Bucks Fizz!! "The drink is named after London's Buck's Club where it was invented as an excuse to begin drinking early, and first served, by one of its barmen, McGarry, in 1921."

Oh and............... from The Independant although it is 5 years old so it is probably higher..considering the difference in population numbers USA 309.6million ... UK 62.2 million we still drink more than the Americans :-))

Britons drink more of the Champagne region's famous export than any other country. According to the champagne industry, almost 35 million bottles were shipped to the UK in 2004, 50 per cent more than the next biggest importer, the United States, and three times more than Germany. We drink five times more champagne than the Italians and 20 times more than the Spanish, though admittedly they have cava.

Nothing to do with me darling..I haven't lived in the UK for 20 years....But I did a good job helping the Spanish with their Cava....a nice bottle of freixenet, which was lovely in Champagne Sangrai
