Cobblers

Not peach and not a claim of rubbish, but the skilled shoe repairman.

Anyone know any good ones? I have a couple of pairs of shoes that need proper soles doing on them (Loakes, goodyear welted). I don't want to have to send back to the UK, it seems a right faff and takes a lifetime.

Recommendations locally would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I laughed at the salesman in Bicester when he said the loafers were reduced to £330.

If you didn't like 330 quid for loafers, I doubt you'll like the prices of a professional cobbler either. Have a look at the prices on line before you go.

Quality costs money.

Re: Cobblers

450 dizzers to get a double welted sole put on a pair here , actually cheaper sending them to the UK . Loakes will re welt them for around 60 quid . As someone said a decent cobbler isn't cheap but if you invest in a pair of shoes at 300-400 quid then it's a really good deal.

Loakes are about 80 for new soles, plus the faff of getting them to the UK and back.

I got no problems paying that sort of cash as long as it's more convenient by being local.
