Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
I have never used a forum before, I don't even know if this will work, however i'm looking for a TRUSTED classic car specialist, mechanic, garage in Doha and i've spent my entire day searching the internet with no success!
Can anybody help or point me in the right direction? Thanks |

Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Hi, thanks for getting back! It's a 1966 Dodge Charger! It runs, chassis and body are fine but I want to get it checked out. The Engine needs a look over, air con needs sorting etc, and over time I'd like to get it up to "perfect" condition!
Appreciate your help. Dan |

Got it! No phone numbers!!
I'll figure out how to PM you No phone numbers protects you against less than desirable phone calls. Do you really want head hunters like Scamps phoning you at odd hours? ;) |
Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Ohhhhhh a 1966 Dodge Charger! I am SOOOOOO envious!!!
Mine's a 2010 model, not quite the same, but a beauty and I LOVE it! Would love to own and maintain one of the older ones! (some would say that mine is an 'older' model it being a ripe old 3 yrs old now!! - and I've blasted 110k kms onto the clock in 18 months ). Good luck with finding someone who can bring yours to the mint quality it clearly deserves ....sounds like Britexpat76 is your mate on this one! Oh, and can we have pics of the beauty please? |

Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Good question, i'm trying to work that out! It's the 383 and has the original engine, thought that was a 6.3L V8 but the seller said it was 4.5L, bit confussed!
Apparently Engines are quite cheap and you can get them in Saudi? All stuff i have to look into... |
Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Has it got a 727 torque flight gearbox 3 speed & what carb?
Hubs (the expert now dictating what I type!!!), thinks that your 383 is in defo the 6. 3L V8. Take it its the mopar engine??? You can apparently check the VIN no with the Chrysler database ..... will pump hubs for more info ..... he's just walked (stumbled) in with few sherberts inside him - will come back tmrw eve with more info if required .... lol Ours btw is a measly 5.7 V8 .... goes lovely tho .... |
Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Hubs in his past had a 1969 Ford Zepher Mk II with a 383 engine taken from a Jensen Interceptor that did 12 secs on the track ........ hmmmm he's lost me now
Ours is blue, yours is older and black ..... I fear yours may cost a little more love and dosh to bring into the 21st C ....... but again, good luck & keep us posted!! |
Re: Classic Car Mechanic / Garage
Only had it a day and i'm no expert! The cylinder heads are green if that helps? Not sure about the torque but yes has a 3 speed!
Interceptor's a beautiful looking car! I'll keep you posted! |

Not too sure about the the green heads ...... get yourself a decent specialiist ;) If all else fails, bring it here to hubs, he'll know what to do with it :D |
