Citizen Khan
Comedy show about Muslims......that was never going to offend anyone!
A show made by UK Muslims, about UK Muslims, offends 0.00514% of the audience into complaining, in itself not really news is it? Hopefully will act as an insight at some level and may open up more of the UK Muslim culture, and as its comedy this may draw more people in and educate them unwittingly. Might hunt it down on iPlayer for a look... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19395994 |
Re: Citizen Khan
it was a bit lame in places but in general it made me laugh, will watch episode two for sure :)

Re: Citizen Khan
I used to live in Brum when I was a student and know the Sparkhill area - thought it was funny and intend watching the series. I liked the plastic covers on the sofa!

Re: Citizen Khan
No it was absolutely crap - not funny at all.
Wife from Brum and same culture - she also thought it was crap. Interestingly she was not in any way offended. |

I was told to watch it by a muslim I met on a training course, Surprisingly he found it hilarious I thought it was OK. |

Re: Citizen Khan
A great programme - a highlight in the schedules. Mr Khan is a caricature, but is not Del Boy? or Basil Fawlty?
Incidentially it's easy to dismiss programmes and say it it was 'OK' or 'average' but try writing something like this yourself... |
Re: Citizen Khan
I have seen everyone now and its pretty much the only thing I watch on BBC Iplayer. Though not hilarious it is good watching and funny in parts. I love the way he treats and talks to Dave

Re: Citizen Khan
I had forgotten what this was called - though you mentioned it the other day - this has just reminded me so thanks for that.

Re: Citizen Khan
Remember seeing some of his cricket snippets a couple of years ago before the series was commissioned and thought they were good.
