Christmas, sorry
Ok summer hols sorted... Now where's a good place to go for Christmas from Riyadh? Just one change would be good with two children and hubby in tow. Any ideas. I know it'll be expensive but I'm saving on not sending any pressies home so... any recommendations?

If you have a vague idea of where you want to be, why not stick a pin randomly into a map? doing this in the past has led to some suprisingly off-beat but interesting holidays. (Tehran, anyone? No? )

Surely the correct answer would be anywhere would be better than Riyadh?
Slightly more helpfully, what type of Christmas do you want? Tropical, snowy etc

You could do the US with no stops, much less one. Or head south and enjoy summer - as if the Saudi heat wasn't enough...
I'd personally be tempted by Tokyo or Seoul. Cold but fun, and (kind of) Christmas without the shutdown...

Although the turkey we ordered was incredible.
We're away this year somewhere warm, maybe Oz, not sure though.

Re: Christmas, sorry
Thanks folks.. Was considering Sri Lanka and Thailand. Just trawling Expedia at the moment, possible 2/3 changes. Anyone recommend any other websites to trawl through. I just want two weeks on the beach drinking cocktails and the kids kept entertained. Like I have nothing better to do............ erm actually I dont!!!!

Cherating Beach, Malaysia or Bintan Island Indonesia. You can conbine the former with a KL city break and the later with a few nights in Singapore if you wish. Not cheap mind but the kids will love it.
