Default chinese restaurants

Tried a couple in Dubai, best we have found so far is in the IBN Battuta mall. Gagging for a chinese just like home, you know the sort - burnt chow mein etc. Passed one just before the defense roundabout on SZR last night, thought of going there, but hate noodles with loads of veg included, it's just not the same, so reluctant to try it out. Any suggestions anybody?

are you talking take away or sit in...??

all the chinese places here are average, i reckon...top end you've got zeng hes in the madinat, which is lovely, and noble house in raffles which costs more than an arm and a leg...the best one i've just found for a take away is in beach centre, not sure what it's called, but i don't think they would deliver to ranches, it would be cold...

I usually get special fried rice, chips and gravy at home, don't think I'll find that over here mind you...

We don't mind sit in or take away, as long as I can have a burnt chicken chow mein dripping with grease, and sweet and sour chicken balls that are huge until you bite into it and realise the batter is half inch thick!

I had that at tradev vics, or jims or whatever down at the medinat - they bring a cooked duck over to your table and shred it for you, it was bloody lovely.

Noodle House isn't strictly Chinese, but there'll be something there to satisfy your demanding palate........

I don't have a demanding palate, just enjoy the chinese food we are used to back home. I know, I know it's probably shit in the UK, but it's nice shit!
