Ha ha.

You do wonder why he didn't just go for it and whack Aguero on for a run around. The form he's in they would probably have gotten two! It come across a bit amateurish as why would you not try your best to dodge the big boys as long as you can, especially in the knock out stages.

As for United potentially getting Olympiacos and City potentially getting Real..... so what if that does happens, it's the luck of the draw. We had Real at this stage last season...! You have to play the big boys sooner or later if you wanna win the big cup!

Went through so if we take 1 point for every correct score:-

BE76 10 (could be 11 but I took his first answer)
Kix 11

Winner is Weasel then, 14/16 is pretty damned good swap Juventus for Galatasaray and Porto for Zenit and you'd have been full house.

The group with Porto was one good team with three shit teams, I knew Porto were doomed having to get a result from Atletico.
But I feel hard done by with Juventus, I watched the highlights and there was no way that game should have gone ahead, it was a snow/mud/water fight with a football in the middle.
The draw for the next round is going to be interesting.

Stayed up last following the action on the BBC and flicking between the Arsenal game and the Ajax game.

Pretty exciting in arsenal group with Napoli minutes away from qualification and Dortmund minutes away from going out and then topping the group.

Think both City and Arsenal will be kicking themselves that they didn't go through top.

Whoever you look at in the top seeds (who either are eligible to play) are mustard. Can't see any of them being particularly scared of Arsenal, however, after City beating Bayern some teams may wish to avoid them.

Here are the potentials for the last 16.

ARSENAL

Real Madrid
PSG
Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid
Barcelona

CHELSEA

Bayer Leverkusen
Galatsaray
Olympiakos
Zenit St Petersburg
AC Milan

MANCHESTER CITY

Real Madrid
PSG
Dortmund
Atletico Madrid
Barcelona

MANCHESTER UNITED

Galatasaray
Olympiakos
Schalke
Zenit St Petersburg
AC Milan

WOW!

Going to be very tough to get through the next round. Makes the misunderstanding in the game against Munich even worse. When you compare it to what the teams who topped the group can face.

I think out of the 2nd place teams we will be the team that people want to avoid.

But don't worry there's still time for us to f**k it up! Thankfully our form in Europe has been acceptable. Not great, but a lot better than in the EPL.

Nasty isn't it! You do have wonder, urely a professional football manager should be able to work this out, even if he has someone who tells him whats needed after each goal. To call it a 'mix up' is surely just unacceptable.

Agree on the wanting to avoid you chat. The only problem is the poor consistency City have. They can be on of the best teams in Europe one minute and absolutely shocking the next. Normally this depends on Yaya tho.

I'm guessing that City fans would take that over being just plain average in every game.

I can confirm that Zenit's points total (6) is the lowest ever to qualify for the knock-out stage......... mind you, Galatasaray qualifying with 7 is hardly any better........

While some poor sods like Napoli and Benfica failed to qualify with 12pts and 10 pts respectively.

Come on now, lets be realistic here. We can all see United are going through a bad patch, however, that's hardly surprising with the amount of major changes happening at the club. It wasn't just Fergie going it was also D. Gill and all the back room staff too. They should never have let both leave at the same time - utter madness.

As for City - fine, let em take those 'bragging rights' right now, United have won more than enough in the last 2 decades to allow them a year or two to re-organise... do you not think?

In reality there aint too much difference at the minute TBH. Yes Arsenal and Liverpool have had a great start and are pretty consistent but arsenal have hardly played any decent sides. Lets see after new year.

My selections:-

Manchester City v Barcelona
Olympiakos v Manchester United
AC Milan v Atletico Madrid
Bayer Leverkusen v Paris St-Germain
Galatasaray v Chelsea
Schalke v Real Madrid
Zenit St Petersburg v Dortmund (Trickiest one of the lot this one)
Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Going to be very tough got City but out of the teams we could have faced then it would have been Barca or Dortmund. Athletico are one of the best teams around at the moment and are very underrated.

'If' we beat Barca then it is a huge statement. If we get beat then we have been beaten by Barca and there is no embarrassment in that. It's a worse draw for Barca than it is for city.

If we have Kompany, Aguero, Toure and Silva fit and in form then we have a chance especially with our home form.

A lot of ifs in this post.
