The crap-shoot at the end isn't football, so it doesn't count. And by the way - when it's such an important event (WC Final, Euro final, Champs Lge final etc), what's wrong with a good old-fashioned REPLAY? It's not as if there are 'other matches' to be squeezed in. |

plus it was a foregone conclusion that Engerland would lose the said penalty shootout.... I understand why they are used to bring a match to a conclusion, but it is no way to lose. very very hard to take.. Entertaining for the neutral, great for TV but for the sport, players and fans of the teams involved it is NO way to lose such an important competition. |

Calm down.....
I don't support either team, but I did think it must have been a nice consolation prize to the Mancunians who had their city trashed by Rangers "fans." I watched that same England/Portugal match at the pub and it was a bitter ending, but a loss none the less. Since the match went over time, I even got a parking ticket for my troubles (meter expired). |
