Not recently - got a bit expensive. House wine was 180 a bottle and that was a while ago now.

FH, 180 for house wine.

Where else is good for a group with a bit of atmosphere, was looking at Chamas as its got a band, any ideas HH?

Trouble with groups is that so many places try to insist on a set menu and/or deposit....
Somewhere with a bit of atmosphere...that is actually not easy. Leftbank? Though I must admit I've not eaten there of an evening and is prob also expensive. Traders? Not a personal fave but always good for the old cocktails and does also have a band. There're some restaurants at the new one to one hotel. I went to the Asian which was hit and miss to say the least but decent Chilean sauvignon blanc was only 60dhs!! Yes, 60!! The steak restaurant is supposed to be good there.
What kind of group is it - mates/work...?

18 year olds, lads and lasses, oh and a few oldies as they like to call us.
Needs to be a restaurant rather than a bar set up due to their age.

Traders might be an idea, although its too bleeding dark in there.

Bambu? Cheap & cheerful but should keep everyone happy (as long as nobody needs to use the loo).
The Noodle House at Shangri La?

Hahahaha I was in bambu on Fri night. WTF are the toilets all about..YEUCK!!
I love the 3 rollers parked by the pool..
Food was alright though..No MSG which is a rarity here.and as much bitburger as I would stomach.

Apparenty that one2one brunch you can chose food from any of the 3 restuarants..

Grace, what about the meat company out by the Souq?

Re: chamas rest at Inter Cont Abu Dhabi

Well yeah exactly - it was really expensive. But on top of that, the steaks were crap and the service terrible. So I wouldn't be rushing back.

Commander will know current situ I'm sure but last time I was there as a guest of members(me and a few other nonmembers) I thought there would be a cover charge for non members.....apparently not.It seemed they have(had??) a system to allow non members to dine, even without the company of a member.....hth.
Was lovely sitting up there and dining al fresco.

Zzzzzzz............
It's supposed to be a party, Commander!!

Yeah, as long as a member books non-members can use the Club restaurants no extra charge, as long as they don't then take the piss and spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach/by the pool....

Pregos is a good choice Grace. Is this a post-18th then or a leaving celebration? Or both?!

This is part of his 18th pressie, he didnt want a party so am taking a gang of them for dinner and then they are all staying over at ours, god help me, I am taking him to NY or Tokyo when he makes his bleeding mind up also.

Ha ha he wishes he was leaving thats for sure, hes got one year left. At this stage HH they all want to get out of here and spread their wings. You have got it all to come......
