Never tried lemon, but water guns are effective and good fun. One of ours used to try and dig her way into our bedroom at night, ruined the bloody carpet. Tried double-sided sticky carpet tape, which didn't work. Tried pepper on the carpet, which didn't work. Eventually just gave in.

handy tip to stop cats pooing in your garden, get some lion poo and spread it around the garden- stops any cats coming anywhere near you- just pop to your local zoo or local princes house and voila, no more cat shite in your garden! (it's true!)
