Cats

Anyone in Riyadh want a kitten ? We are taking 5 dogs and 4 cats to Cyprus, but that leaves two very cute, kinda socialised kittens looking for homes. They are easy maintenance, just need food and water and a safe place to sleep. Will be neutered and vaccinated on Saturday. Can't persuade husband to pay for shipping more than 9 animals (which is what we arrived with). WOuld be nice to home them together if possible . . . I know, in my dreams . . . .

Any offers ? They are very cute in a ferally kind of way.

Hey Nic, what a joke........Al-Yamama were fine with pets BUT he said that my employer had a clause in the lease which didn't allow them for it's staff!!!!!
I am checking with them now to see what is what............back to you soon

Re: Cats

Idiots!! What a wierdd clause for the company to put in. Perhaps they've had problems in the past.

Anyone else in case this doesn't work out ? I know there are quite a few Riyadhites lurking out there . . .

This is now silly, the company are saying their lease with Al-Yamama states no pets, Al-Yamama says no problem with pets???????

Is this typical of Saudi life

great idea Smoochy - if they ask just say they were there when you arrived!! There are lots of compound cats around. . . . . . They are at the vets just now being snipped and jabbed.

Poor things - they'll be OK; I had 15 cats back home all nipped and tucked; easier on the boyz of course, but then what isn't ??!!:D

I would just say they came with the house .... exactly; and who's going to complain anyway? Would NEVER be without a pet wherever I am but definitely more so in the Middle East ........ something to come home to if you're alone especially!

Re: Cats

Thanks Smoochy Girl, didn't think of it that way!!

Now all i have to do is wait for the Visa to be sorted as it still has been done yet and that is just the company part!!!!

I am supposed to be out in 2 weeks if you haven't found a home by then they could mysteriously arrive in my Villa without my knowledge and what sort of person would i be to make them leave ;)

Re: Cats

That would be great. They are back from the vets, vaccinated and neutered, fully recovered after a wobbly evening. They really are no trouble, they spend the day asleep in the kitchen or in the garden, or in the laundry basket! Would need to be kept inside for a week or so to avoid them running off and getting lost - but they will come with litter tray, litter, carrying box and some food. :) And of course you will get lots of karma

Cheers
