Car Help

Millhouse, Shiva, the usual bunch of petrol heads - I need your help please.

Need to get the roof lining in her car sorted. It's hanging down and the cloth appears to have just come unstuck.

Any suggestions of where I can get it replaced or removed and re-glued for less than Volvo would probably want to charge (not knowing what they'll charge yet).

TIA.

We get all our work done at Fast Track on Beach Road now. A fraction of the cost that Al Futtaim quote. Not sure if they do interiors, but worth calling them.

Can't you just glue it back yourself darling with some fabric glue??

Re: Car Help

Can of spray glue from ace

Or satwa

In sure any garage would do it but costs will no doubt be insane for what the job actually is

Re: Car Help

There is a car interior place near the back of the new Audi Dealership in Al Quoz if memory serves, specialises in doing hideous retrims on interiors. They might be able to help, then again they might only be interested if you want the entire interior doing out in yellow snakeskin...

Re: Car Help

Best to try the upholstery places in Satwa first - we had new seat covers made for a battered old Range Rover we had in the early 90's and were very pleased with the result. The place is still there but I can't remember the name!

Thanks for that tip. I see that the Chicago beach centre is open 24/7, perfect for getting a service at 3am

You haven't met me. I'd be terrible at something like this. It would be bumpy and with creases in it etc.

I'm not allowed to use super glue at home because I nearly stuck something to the kitchen side and my thumb.

I know that, you know that, she knows that. But she loves them.

Thinks they're smart and not flash. An understated feel of quality. A bit like she has found in me...;)

Re: Car Help

I've an XC90 as well.
Hope she has the V8 though Scamp?
It's a rocket tank.

For spares - I use these guys www.voluparts.com as even paying USPS shipping they work out cheaper than buying the parts here in the GCC.

Bill Eidson [email protected] is the bloke you need to talk to. Not necessarily that good at computer stuff (hence the webpage but not the email... :D ) but they have loads of stuff that they haven't listed. It was a bit of a struggle to get him to ship from outside the USA as he hadn't done it before, but he did, and it worked fine. My XC90 is almost 7 years old now so the headlamps had whited out, and other bits and pieces needed tarting up - e.g. the rubber bits at the base of the seatbelt in the front seats etc. The total cost of getting new headlamps, all the tarting pieces, and shipping costs were cheaper than just buying the headlamps here from the dealer.

Thanks OS.

Not sure it's the V8 but it's quicker than my Explorer.

There are loads in al quoz that can do this scamp, I've been using prime link for a while. They are ok, but I would never recommend a garage here!
