Capital Gains tax Q
 

I'll be speaking to a tax bod but wondered if anyone on the bored (sic) has any advice on the following scenario...

Moving back to the UK next week.

Had an offer for our UK property. It's our only property, our home, we've been outside the UK since 2005 with no links to UK. Rented it out in the meantime.

If sale goes through we'd be recently returned UK residents.

Property has increased in value 4-500% since purchase in 1996.

Will Capital Gains Tax come into play? If it does we'd rethink.

I'd suggest a bloody good ( tax specialist ) financial adviser. I'm not one, but my close cousin in UK is.

Shame Meow deleted her post as she generally knows exactly what she's talking about. :).

Honestly though, get some solid advice, my cousin has literally saved me tens of thousands through doing things at certain times, using off shore companies etc.

Just fed up with offering free advice and getting sarcasm in return. This forum is just far less nice that it used to be, which is why it has become quieter of late. People know where I am if they want to contact me.
