Default Can I still Buy/Register a 10yr Old + Car?

I was looking at buying a cheap run around and have found lots of pre-98 cars that would be suitable, I know they were banging on about not being able to transfer/sell cars and register them after they reach 10yrs old, but then heard that this law was on hold, so is it still possible, does anyone know, I would like some clarification before parting with any money on an older car.

Cheers

it was 20 year old cars that they were banning to start with which they have put on hold i believe, best advice go down to the registration place and ask them the question to be on safe side. but yes they were not allowing you to transfer/sell 10year old cars, dont think they changed that bit tho!

in all fairness, the rules haven't really been clarified.
Maybe a call to the traffic police department may help..

Yes they have. Shk Khalifa issued a decree overturning any order which would ban cars on the basis of age.

But perhaps Bison could call the RTA for some advice, they might tell him that the official limit is 10, but the real limit is 12.

If it had been a 964 or a 930 I'd have bought it off you.
