It does highlight how ridiculously tall the thing is.

I remember sitting in Vu bar in emirates towers once and thinking how high it was. If you look at Emirates towers from Al Khail road...you can translate the height of the top of Emirates Towers to Burj dubai and it's basically still at the base of the thing.

I don't think it's a great achievement of anything like that (almost anything can be done with enough money) but it is ficking tall.

crikey they get a bit close don't they! I think it looks taller from that perspective, it needs an average height skyscraper next to it to put it into perspective.

That's what got me. You see the skyscrapers along SZR to start with, then the Burj looms into view. Yowzer. It is, as the guy said on youtube, like something out of a Star Wars movie.

to really put it into perspective you have to remember that some of the "small" buildings on SZR are amogst the tallest on earth

I took my mother on the seaplane trip from the creek, it was wonderful, up the coast to Jebal Ali and then round the Burj al Arab then a circuit round the Burj Dubai, defo 1 for the visitors

I was thinking of doing that for some folks visiting but it's a bit pricey no?

I think it is about 1200dhs, but for a 45 minute flight not bad, defo worth the money ..but ours was complimentary
