Default BP and the Gulf Oil Spill

Right,

Im sick of the anti oil industry news coverage on this and more importantly, sick of the anti BP sentiments coming from the US. Bloody Hypocrites.

I work in the drilling industry (my company is hired out to the likes of BP Chevron etc etc) Now the Drilling company involved (transocean) well, there seems to be quite a silence on their responsiblilty on this!! Why is that OBAMA? hazard a guess?? The biggest offshore drilling company in the world. Methinks that might be something to do with it, and, who would guess it, they are american.

now, not for one minute am i saying that BP dont have responsiblility in this, by god they do, but how about additionally blaming the company they hired to drill the well?? Yes, they go on instructions from the "company man - which is BP or the operators man in charge on the rig"- and at the end of the day, they (transocean) have the final say if they think that there is a major issue, WELL I THINK WE HAD ONE. (maybe it was too late?? but still, as people say, the buck stops here.)

But its best if we just blame the Limey's..............

It's what happens when you let an industry regulate itself- it can only happen in America, or possibly Russia. It's called corruption

Among the problems found by independent safety experts:

*improper well design
*improper cement design
*early warning signs not properly detected, analyzed or corrected
*removing the pressure barrier -- displacing drilling mud with sea water 8,000 feet below the drill deck
*flawed design and maintenance of the final line of defense – the blowout preventer

Agree that there's appalling hypocrisy, and now the american public have caught on that the B in BP stands for British (only it doesn't any more) they're queuing up to find more foreigners to blame for their woes. Hop over to the Trailer Park for much deeper debate.

Is anyone blaming Britain for this?
Has anyone here been accused of neglecting their annular preventers? (smirk) Or releasing that stuff? Coz I haven't. The oil industry has been shitting on thos planet for decades and this time, people are more pissed off about it- due to media , ignorance, boredom, or just maybe it's just the tipping-point.

Anti-oil industry US hypocrites?
Most anti-oil industry people haven't released 20 trillion (or whatever) barrels of smeggy gunb into the sea. Did I say most? OK the vast majority.
OK- correction- not a single one. SO they can't be hypocrites unless they diss BP for doing stuff they that they do as well.

The evidence against BP is damning. They went against, or simply ignored their own procedures on at least seven crucial points. It's a Piper-A all over again.

Halliburton will be found guilty of not informing the regulator of BP's plans and nothing more.

BP will never recover from this.
