I heard exactly the same thing from a Moroccan pharmacist last weekend. Must be doing the rounds on the Arab/Muslim social media or press.

I heard the other day that the Americans are basically fighting the Russians in Syria on behalf of the Qatari's who want to pipe their gas to Europe. The Russians don't like the idea as they have a near monopoly on gas in Europe.
